We are looking for a lead software engineer that will help to build the next generation of digital solutions for the aviation industry. Whether it’s building a web app, getting the servers up and running for data streaming or managing a database, you’re comfortable with all aspects of software engineering. As part of a small software company, your mission is to help build the solutions that help our clients. It’s our goal to get the client happy, such that they want to see more from us!

About AerLabs

AerLabs is a start-up designing, delivering and supporting digital solutions to create a better aviation system. We have gained experience working in the aerospace industry by implementing models for aircraft noise simulation and building various data & analytics solutions and human-machine interfaces. We are passionate about solving real-life problems with data analysis and we believe combining computer science with applied engineering knowledge creates new opportunities to improve for the aerospace industry. Our clients currently include airports, aviation authorities and aviation consultancy firms. As part of the Aerospace Innovation Hub, we are connected to the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering of Delft University of Technology.

Key skills

• You have 1+ years of experience in designing, developing, testing and supporting production grade software
• Experience building back-end applications in Python or Javascript
• Experience building front-ends using frameworks such as React or Vue
• Experience with cloud computing services and concepts, such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform or DigitalOcean
• Experience with SQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Experience with Linux infrastructure, Docker and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Preferably, you have experience with streaming data architectures and messaging services such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Affinity with big data and data science concepts
• You have an academic degree, or experience showing a similar level of thinking.
• You are proficient in the English language and preferably the Dutch language
• Preferably, you have some affinity with aviation
